Tracing our roots and the foundation of excellence.
Uttara Town College is a non-government higher education institution located in Sector 9 of Uttara, Dhaka. Established on 15 October 1998, the college was founded to provide modern, dynamic, and practical education for students in Uttara, a rapidly growing satellite town of Dhaka Metropolitan City. The institution began its journey as Uttara Town University College, reflecting an early ambition to develop an advanced academic environment beyond the conventional pattern of college education. It was established through the collective ideas of prominent educationists, academicians, and government officials rather than the effort of a single founder. To implement this vision, they formed the Uttara Academic Foundation, a non-political, non-profit, and charitable organization. The Foundation has governed the college through its governing body and has guided its academic, administrative, and institutional development since its establishment.

The college began its academic activities by offering Higher Secondary Certificate courses in Science, Humanities, and Business Studies. From the beginning, the institution sought to distinguish itself by emphasizing science laboratory facilities, computer learning, regular academic supervision, and a structured educational environment. Its location in Uttara made it accessible to students from the expanding residential and commercial communities of northern Dhaka. The college initially operated from its main campus at Plot 24, Road 7/D, Sector 9, and later expanded its physical presence through additional buildings at Plot 1 and Plot 12 on Road 3/E in the same sector. As student demand increased, the college introduced degree-pass programmes, including BA, BSS, and BBS courses. It also expanded into four-year honours education, enabling students to continue undergraduate studies in Uttara without moving to distant institutions.

Uttara Town College has developed into a multi-level institution providing higher-secondary, degree-pass, honours, masters, and professional education. Its honours programmes include English, Political Science, Social Work, Economics, Accounting, Management, Marketing, and Finance and Banking. In the 2009–2010 academic session, the college introduced a four-year professional BBA programme, a major milestone intended to meet growing demand for business-focused education in Uttara and neighbouring areas. The institution has also planned to expand advanced academic offerings, including masters programmes in several subjects and science-related professional courses. With approximately 3,000 students, 60 teaching staff members, and 28 non-teaching staff members, the college remains a significant private educational institution in the metropolitan area. Its future development can focus on digital learning, modern laboratories, research culture, career services, professional partnerships, and innovation-oriented education while preserving its founding commitment to accessible and useful learning.

Celebrating our journey from humble beginnings to becoming a leading educational institution, each milestone has contributed to our vision of providing transformative education.
